Experiencing a continental climate, the average temperatures in Aarau hover around freezing in the winter months, with an average of one hour of sun per day. In the summer, the temperatures sit at about 20°C and a brighter average of seven hours of sun per day can be expected.

Getting There & Around

Aarau sits at the centre of the triangle between three major Swiss cities: Geneva, Zurich and Basel. Each of these cities has an airport with direct train links to the town itself. It is also well connected by a network of main roads if you decide to drive.

When in the city, there is no shortage of public transport, but for the most educational experience, there are a multitude of guided tours which will take you around the historic sites. There are also places to hire bikes so you can cycle your own way around the city.
