The service was fine. But the room was shabby - threadbare sofa that would have been discarded years ago at other city hotels, old & not so clean carpet, old bathroom & badly painted & patched mirror. It didn't feel Swiss. And it didn't feel Like Beijing 2012. Time for a major makeover if business guests are to feel comfortable & that they are getting value for money - i.e.not three star quality.

In Beijing, it is paramont that a hotel be near a metro line because of heavy traffic. This hotel is in a great location right outside of the Metro #2 Line. It is also easy to catch a taxi as it is near the center. The amenities of the hotel are okay. It is bit of worn here and there. But given the rate I got, I'd say it was the best value anywhere in Beijing for a 4* hotel. I would stay in this hotel again if the rate remains as attrative as it was.

The location is wonderful. I could find the location very easily, and since it was in the middle of the city, I was able to get around quickly and easily. It is next to a major subway station, so finding my way around was not difficult. The hotel is a bit older, but well kept. Overall, it was very good.

All went well except for the bed. It was like sleeping on he floor. But the staff did everything they could to accommodate by providing additional blankets and pillows.

Its is near the subway station Dongsi Shitao so its easier to travel to different places in beijing especially when your on a tight budget because taxi fares differ (always) and its not that safe to take taxis because they sometimes hike the price up hahaha! and add stress to your vacation lol! :)

Fantastic location with the subway literally outside the door. We were upgraded to a Swiss Advantage room which was wonderful. Everyone very attentive and when I needed some help with directions a couple of staff came over immediately to assist. Staff all superb. Wifi available in the lobby using the Flow Cafe wifi, good connection you do need to buy a drink though to get the code. Overall, very impressed if I could get the deal I got for everywhere else, Swissotel would get my business every hotel booking I made. Alas, this isn't the case.

The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The counter staff as well as the bell boys are very friendly and helpful. I also like the hotel for its location - the subway station is directly outside the hotel, making it very convenient for travelling

The hotel is in great location with easy access to the airport and shops via cab. However, room condition is short of satisfaction. There is a stench when we checked into the room, and drainage for the shower/long bath has been slow and clogged.

The hotel is clean, the spacious room had good facilities, the staff were reasonably helpful and the service fairly good. The lounge/bar has a laid-back atmosphere and the breakfast is fresh, despite being a buffet. My room looked out onto a great big roundabout, so my view was of cars and a massive road. Not sure if any better views are available in this hotel.

My only real gripe is that the hotel bank''s ATM ran out of cash over the weekend and the hotel''s foreign exchange desk wouldn''t accept credit cards --- VERY inconvenient. Otherwise, my stay at the Swissotel went smoothly.

Bar consumption overcharged (took 2 Perrier and charged 3). Signals of intense use of rooms (bathroom seems to be dirty all the time). Cold attitude of staff (except room service). I don''t recommend it to a friend at the moment but probably after end renovation in course.

The room was nice, but nothing special. The hotel lobby is large and beautiful but lacks seating. The concierge staff was okay, but again nothing special. Many employees had difficulty speaking English. Good points: Nice location, near subway, restaurants, and theaters. Taxis are cheap in Beijing so it doesn''t matter that the hotel is not near any tourist sites. It only costs one or two American dollars to take a taxi to the Forbidden City or Lama Temple. Temple of Heaven is bit further. Don''t use Greyline Tours, located in the hotel, for the city tour. You will spend more time shopping pre-arranged store visits than you will looking at the sites. Again, take a taxicab or hire a driver if going to the Great Wall.
