Umea Climate
Umea has a temperate climate with mild temperatures throughout the year. Summers are short and cool, with temperatures reaching average highs of 18°C (64°F) in July, while winters are long and cold, with temperatures hitting as low as -11°C (12°F) in January. The majority of Umea’s precipitation occurs in July and August.
Getting There & Around
Umea Airport is 4 km (2 miles) east of Umea city centre. Tourists can take the shuttle bus from the airport to Vasaplan in the city centre. Taxis take tourists to destinations within Umea for a fixed price.
Umea offers a wide range of bike-friendly roads and bridges to allow tourists an environmentally friendly way in which to explore the city. Bikes can be rented through Cykel & Mopedhandlaren or Umea Camping. The Västerbottens Lokaltrafik bus system is available for those who prefer to use public transport.
