Getting There & Around
Åre Östersund Airport is located 11 km outside of the city centre. Airport Coaches (Stadsbussarna) depart from the airport and take tourists downtown. Tourists will find a taxi stand at the airport should they wish to use a private vehicle to reach their base within the city.
This city boasts an extensive network of roads, making it easy to explore with the aid of a rental car. The local bus company run on nine routes throughout the city. As the city is found at the shores of Storsjön, it features a harbour and several bridges which span across to nearby communities.
