Norrkoping Hotels

Norrkoping’s roots as a significant settlement stretch back to medieval times and namely, the late 13^th century. The city was a major military garrison at one point but Norrkoping’s exclusive claim to fame took hold in the early stages of the Industrial Revolution. From textile mills to sugar refineries, paper mills to tobacco plants, Norrkoping was a feverish industrial dynamo from the late 18^th century to the late 20^th century. While most of the city’s industrial landmarks now stand as sober relics of a bygone era, Norrkoping has used the past to its advantage in recent decades and initiated sweeping urban revival plans. Happily, there are plenty of worthwhile points of interest to explore in town, such as the Rådhustornet, Arbetets Museum, Stadsmuseum, Hällristningsmuseet and immense Kolmårdens Zoo and Tropicarium.
