good hotel for day-trip in Bangkok not far from Kaosan

Not much from outside but nice from within. Good rooms, fairly priced. 10mins walk from popular Koh San Road. Free wi-fi. Would stay here again.

As I was approaching the Hotel in a taxi I wasn't too impressed with the surroundings of The Best Western Swana Hotel, it's in a shabby and old neighbourhood with a flyover facing the entrance. But I must admit, once I stepped inside the Hotel lobby, my whole attitude changed. The receptionists greeted me warmly and somehow you begin to relax in the contemporary Thai decor. I loved my room it was modern and compact, being on the third floor with no elevators didn't bother me at all. The breakfast was good, a choice of American or Thai. This boutique Hotel is up to standards, but for location wise, it's not very conveinent, it's quite a distance to town, but if you want to visit the Museums, different Temples and the Grand Palace then it's very near. I would recommend it to visitors who just want to relax and not into shopping, after all, it's still a good deal staying at this Best Western Hotel chain.

Room was very clean and comfortable, good breakfast served in a lovely courtyard. Altogether a pleasant and good value for money hotel.I would definately recommend, although tell the taxi driver the name of the hotel opposite, as this one is very hard to find.

'Facilities' scored as good rather than very good because there is no lift in this hotel.
