I have to admit after belatedly reading some reviews after booking I was a little anxious re. My choice. I have to say that my husband and self could only give a glowing report of the motel although we did not have a car so cannot comment re. that area. Proprietor could not have been more helpful. Accomm. Spotless. Would recommend to anyone in the Middling budget range. D and R Marshall Australia

[...]. the room was really small and narrow, while the bathroom was incredibly big. i have travelled along the west coastline for half month, and this hotel was the worst but the most expensive. Never enter Super 8 on lombard street in San Francisco. That is my suggestion.

This hotel is a 20 minute bus ride, followed by a 10 minute walk from Fisherman's Wharf. The accessability of public transporation and low price more than made up for the somewhat deceptive description of the location. The staff was friendly and very helpful regardless of the time of day. We would never have been able to figure out the bus locations, times, and routes without their help. . The only thing which may cause guests to consider another hotel is the lack of an elevator. We were on the 3rd floor (33 steps). People with any type of physical limitation may want to ensure their room is on the first floor. I will definately stay there again
