staff was friendly, helpful. Got us extra pillows no problem. location is good.. this is just a smallish room is the drawback. the breakfast area too small, only two tables for guest seating. breakfast not that great. I just liked the price. oh, forgot, the bathroom was smallish too. the super 8 in bloomington wins my approval.

My boyfriend and I have stayed at Super 8's in the past and were always satisfied. This time we weren't. The front desk person wasn't very welcoming or informative. On first inspection, the room was OK. However, the bathroom ceiling started leaking and afterwards we noticed a strong smell of sewage. The leak stopped and the smell went away after about an hour, but I couldn't help but be grossed out thinking a toilet upstairs had overflowed or something! The next incidence was when we were getting ready to leave the next morning. Someone called us at 11:09 and told us check out time was at 11:00. My boyfriend started to take stuff out to the car while I hurried and continued getting ready. At about 11:30 he went to turn the key in and was told we owed $10 for a late check out. They also wanted cash! He said he didn't have any and they did take a credit card. We have NEVER had this happen at ANY hotel. This rates as our most disappointing hotel stays!
