Suan Bua Hotel & Resort Chiang Mai Guest Reviews
Booked to stay in their Deluxe Room, but as they were full, we were downgraded for the first 2 nights to the Standard Room (not worth writing about) and then for the subsequent 2 nights were upgraded to the Junior Suite. The Junior Suite was in the newer wing and was absolutely gorgeous - great finishing (Thai craftsmanship for you!) and location within the grounds was fabulous. The service was - what we came to find - typically Thai: warm, sincere and efficient. The Spa was heavenly. Suan Bua means Lotus Garden, and it was a beautiful stay.

This resort on the outskirts of Chiang Mai has a nice mountain setting and beautiful landscaping. The resort offers spa services which we did not use. When we were there in January it was very quiet with few people. From the web page we were under the impression that there was a tour desk but when we asked at registration they did not know what we were talking about. We ending up checking out a day early because there was not enough to do. The pool was cold and in an uninviting setting and the exercise facilities were very dated. The rooms were large and contained all the modern amenities including satellite TV and a minibar. Beds were large and comfortable.

The Resort was away from the Chiang Mai area about 25 minutes away. Transportation was easily available from the resort. The spa services were readily available, complete and reasonable. My two adult children and myself enjoyed 3 hours of customized services (different packages area available). The grounds were well-kept, lots of trees and flowers, quiet except for some bird calls! In Mid-March this resort was quiet. It was not too far from Chiang Mai. I''d go back and recommend this to my friends.
