St. Kitts Marriott Resort & The Royal Beach Casino Guest Reviews
The hotel is beautiful! The location is convenient and only a short walk from shops, bars and restaurants. Customer service on the other hand was nothing short of a disaster. We originally booked a room with a king-sized bed. This reservation was somehow changed prior to our arrival and we were never notified. The woman who checked us in argued with us saying we originally booked it with two doubles even though we had the confirmation in hand to prove otherwise. She offered to switch us to a king-sized room (subject to availability) in the next day or two. Services at the lobby bar restaurant and breakfast cafe were extremely slow and the waitresses were just out right rude! A typical service would consist of us being seated and then waiting for 20 minutes before we were even acknowledged. One morning we finished breakfast before the waitress returned with our original drink orders. After each meal we waited another 20-30 minutes consistently attempting to flag someone down so we could pay our bill. They made us feel as though we were inconveniencing them every day. The last day in the breakfast café they had a manager at the front desk overseeing the hostess’s duties. This seemed to help with the process somewhat, but the hostesses (we had issues with previously) didn’t like having a manager there and publicly argued with him in front of the customers over every seating. We typically take two nice vacations every year. St. Kitts is absolutely beautiful and we will definitely return… just not to this resort. For the money you spend on this type of trip it would definitely be better spent elsewhere.

My family of four spent 5 nights at this hotel. The main hotel was really appealing and with its wide open airy lobby, always seemed to catch the sea breeze. The staff was helpful in all regards related to our room, and our stay, as well as the activities both on the hotel grounds and in the nearby area. The taxi service was excellent. I had considered renting a car, but the taxis were readily available, the drivers helpful and willing to work with our plans and saved us a lot of money and hassles. The room was comforable and clean, we had no problems, but the double beds were not as comfortable as I have experienced at other hotels, and I do not usually stay at Marriotts. We had one of the lower price rooms looking out at the grounds, but not the sea, and our door opened out toward the parking lot for employees. Nothing bad per se, just not what I had expected. We ate our first night at the hotel's seafood restaurant. Subsequent nights we ate at 3 other seafood places, which were all better values with more variety and better food. However, to the Marriott's credit they had the best wait staff of the places we dined. The hotel had an active casino, with lots of people coming and going to the casino, the bars and other functions. This said, one night I sat in the lobby as my children went to bed early and read a book. It was interesting to see three local women come into the hotel, and sit next to me. They tried to spark up some conversation, but I understood that they were not patrons, were not going to a restaurant, bar or casino, but seemed to be looking for "other" opportunities. The front desk manager did not ask them to leave, but instead asked them to sit away from the front lobby and move to a side lobby. They readily moved when asked, and there they sat all dressed up, not eating, not drinking, just waiting for hours. I have traveled all over the world, and sensed that the hotel knew why the ladies were there, and maybe there were patrons who appreciated their presence and may have had other things in mind. At 10:30 pm, with families coming and going, I just found it very odd that the hotel would not ask them to leave, but instead seem to work with them to find a place for them to sit and wait for "whatever it was" they were hoping for. I told my wife and some other people who lived in the area about this, both were in disbelief, but later my wife was really upset by their presence. Not a big deal, kind of interesting to me though that a hotel like this would seem to condone the presence of women with things other than gambling, food or drink to be in the main lobby for hours.

*Property is well located. Room are spacious. *Needs to clean shower walls a little bit! *Fitness room lack of maintenance. Needs someone permanent to satisfy customers needs and clean the machines. *At 9:00am in the morning no wipe paper available to clean the machines. *Food is expensive! *Staff is friendly
