When To Go
Wadduwa, Sri Lanka is a destination that can be visited year round. However, visitors might want to consider the wet and dry seasons before making reservations. The southwestern part of the island, where Wadduwa is located, should be visited during the months of September through May. From May to September, the wet season takes over. During this season, the rainfall is heavy and can cause travel delays and flooding, possibly making vacation more of a hassle than a holiday.

Getting There
By air, visitors to Wadduwa can fly into the Bandaranaike International Airport located in Katunayake, about 70 km (43 mi) from Wadduwa. When traveling in Sri Lanka, passengers should have their passports at all times, as well as be prepared for long travel times to and from the airport. The long travel times are generally due to heavy traffic, so visitors should allow plenty of time to make their flight.
When coming to Wadduwa by railway, travelers will take a coastal line train that is serviced by the Sri Lanka Railway. The train travels south from Colombo and provides spectacular views of beautiful beaches.
Visitors coming to Wadduwa by ferry need to check with the Sri Lanka Ports Authority to confirm scheduling. Since so many services go out of business, visitors should not plan any trips by ferry without checking the latest information at www.slpa.lk.
