I use this hotel for overnight layovers when I travel through ATL on international trips. The location along the tramway to the rental car center means 24 hour fast, free airport transportation. It can take as little as 10 minutes from the time you exit the terminal until you are relaxing in your room. I once stayed in a cheaper near-airport hotel and it took almost 2 hours to get to my room. The off-site hotel shuttle station looks efficient, but it gets insanely crowded with agitated people complaining that they have seen every shuttle go by but theirs. At the SH Suites, it is also convenient to take the tram back to the airport any time and catch the MARTA to downtown, say for late night dinner. The rooms are ultra modern and the breakfast is fantastic (if you have time to eat). I once woke up at the SpringHill Gateway only an hour before my departure (forgot to set alarm on return trip) but still made my flight! Any other hotel and I would have had to wait for the next shuttle or pay for a taxi and would have missed the flight. It costs more than other near-airport options, but I consider the several hours of time saved to make this hotel well worth the difference.
