Spring Garden Hotel Beijing Guest Reviews
I stayed at Spring Garden in late Mar 2008 after seeing its pretty photos in the internet and the favourable comments by fellow travelers. The location is not easily found. All 3 drivers of the cabs I took could not find it easily. It is located in the hutong area. The decor of the rooms can be a bit overwhelming if you are not used to colourful chinese-style fabrics and art. Those looking for modern full-facilities hotels should avoid it. However, anyone who likes to experience a bit of culture would enjoy staying at this charming traditional beijing courtyard-style residence. I especially loved the night view with the bright street lights casting a romantic hue over the courtyard. The receptionist (Ziyi) was very friendly and tried her best to make me feel very welcome. The one who took the next shift was just as friendly and helpful. All in all, I'd recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to experience the authentic value of a trip to beijing.
