Getting There

Madrid’s Barajas International Airport is Spain’s major gateway for tourists, and is just around 6 kilometres from the city centre. The Metro rail system has stations from terminals 2 and 4, or there’s a bus service, number 200, from the airport which travels into the centre of Madrid. Cheaper car rentals are available from the airport if booked in advance. To visit the Museodel Prado by rail, alight at the Banco de Espana stop. There’s also a hop-on/hop-off bus service that runs through the city and passes the Museodel Prado.
