Asan offers historical attractions including the Oeamri Folk Village, which dates back 500 years. A walk through the village transforms you to another era of rich tradition. The entrance to the village has artefacts from the Joseon Period (1300s-1800s). Because the old culture is well conserved in the Village, it is known as a living museum. The Hyeonchungsa Shrine was constructed in 1706 and is dedicated to General Yi Sun-shin. The city offers a soothing atmosphere where you can relax and forget worries.
When To Go
September to November are ideal months for a trip to Asan. These autumn months offer pleasant weather as well as a lovely, warm ambiance of yellow, orange and red trees with bright blue skies. Spring months of April and May are the peak tourist season and offer spectacular scenery of hundreds of trees blossoming with cherry blossoms and vivid foliage. Summers are normally warm with heavy precipitation at times, while winters are chilly with unpredictable snowfalls. Following are the average annual temperatures for Asan:

Getting There
A well-engineered transport system makes travelling around South Korea easy and quick. The country rapidly developed its transportation network thanks to its booming industrialization and tourism. Asan is near Seoul, the capital of South Korea, where the Incheon International Airport is located. From the airport, you can choose to travel to Asan by bus, taxis, car rentals and subways. Asan and its neighbouring city Cheonan share the Cheonan-Asan Station for the KTX super fast trains, which take a mere 30 minutes to travel to Seoul. South Korea provides special international taxis with drivers who speak English for foreign travellers.
