Soleil Peniche Hotel Guest Reviews
Peniche by it's location on a narrow neck of land jutting out into the sea can be very windy, but if you like surfing you will love the area. The town itself is famous for fish food restaurants and was once a centre of lacemaking some of which still goes on and in fact you can take a day course for free at the local Tourist info office. There is a small fort/museum, at the top end of town a lighthouse and fearsome cliffs that plunge into the sea. The Hotel is very well placed to reach town, 5/10mins dependant on your age !! Staff were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant is as good as you get when it comes to food. Try the Sol Peniche steak, excellent and my wife and friends enjoyed the chicken wrapped in ham. No problem recomending this Hotel.

The Hotel had very courteous and friendly staff but tended to be quite slow when attending to people. Breakfast was great and evening meals were average buffet style meals. Plus side was you could eat as much as you wanted. The location was good just walking distance from the beach but beware of the wind (great for surfers). There are two swimming pools, one indoor and one outdour. The wind was quite strong when we stayed which made it uncomfortable outside. Hire car is necessary as not much entertainment at the hotel. Good restaurants in Peniche and surrounding villages.

The hotel seemed a little understaffed as sometimes there was no one on reception and also we often had to go looking for bar staff to get a drink.
