Sofitel Plaza is outstanding. Excellent room facilities with full attention to every detail. WIFI internet is excellent. Good view to the rivers from the room. Restaurant food is excellent ( Asian, Vietnamese and Continental). Good service at the door. Location is slightly out of the main shopping centres.

Deluxe room was a little smaller than I expected but with a lovely fit out, nice views and nice bathroom - what you would expect of a five star hotel. The downside of the location is that restaurants are not within walking distance. Gym facilities are very good but the pool is not suitable for young children, being quite deep, and health club members frequent the pool doing laps up and down. The extremely slippery floor surface surrounding the pool is LETHAL, with only two very small signs indicating that care nees to be taken. I had two very bad falls within a short space of time and am still sore, over a week later.

Hotel facilities good except for Bedroom and bathroom which are not up to standard for usd 150 night. Could hear all noises from corridor, basin tap badly positioned,terrible water drainage sound after using bathroom. Also not in centre of town (25 mins by taxi)where all the activities are.

The location of the Hotel is not central but it's next to the beautiful West Lake, it costs about 50,000VND to get to the City Centre. The staffs were helpful but most of their English is limited. The Hotel's Chinese restaurant Ming Palace was not as good as expected - the servings were small and the prawns were frozen not fresh.
