Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila

I can highly recommend this hotel as great value for a 5 star option. The location is not really within walking distance from anything but has a free shuttle to SM Mall and is only a 30min taxi ride to a lot of destinations. The rooms with a bay view are lovely, clean, comfortable, no complaints. The food in the restaurant is good and while we didn't use the pool, the facilities looked great. Staff were eager to please and the concierge desk was very helpful.

Very disappointed with this hotel, we stayed for one week spending one night night in the Sofitel Club. The food there was dismal and the night we stayed it was wine tasting, there was a choice of two wines one white and one red, neither were very good. The room service was good, but that is the only recommendation I would make about this hotel.

The hotel was fabulous, especially the outside view. The dining hall was spectacular. I have never seen a dine-in buffet quite like that one. I thought the rooms would be a little nicer, but the oceanic surroundings took my mind off of it. I will be back in 2007 to say a few more nights.

Built in 70's (if not mistaken) and has not been renovated much since then. As the result, facilities are bit old and cleanliness is less than average, but still worth staying because of good location (a resort in the city) and nice breakfast with very reasonable price.

Its located a bit away from Center, but close to airport. and can be hard to get a regular regular taxi from there. The Dinnerbuffet at the restaurant is a dream. Its so huge! The best have ever seen. The pool area also is absolutely brilliant! Rooms are still a bit out of date, but renovations start in June 2006.

Staff were efficient and very helpful. The room was first class and exuded quality. We had an excellent view of Manila bay from the balcony and it is definitel worth asking for a room with a bay/pool view. Grounds and pool area also very good. No significant compalints.

Would recommend to a friend. I selected the Executive rate - and it was worth the $110.00 - yes this might be high for the Philippines - BUT, this is a final stop before returning to the US and I dont want to change going to a hotel that might be less than excellent.

Asked for poolview room or a bayview room and they granted our request. Sometimes the service is just too good and helpful staff appear out of thin air, you can''t walk through a door without assistance! The worst thing we could say about the breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets, we now qualify for excess baggage!

Room was nicely furnished but bathroom fixtures were in need of immediate replacement, bathtub fiberglass was flaking off. Staff was great, front desk clerk "Maria" was very helpful with posting of letters for me.

Apparently this is my third time to stayed with this Hotel, overbooked all the times but the staff is very accomodating. But if you''re travelling and you want peace and quiet no this is not right hotel to stay.

I stayed at this hotel twice on separate date & had a bad experience on 24-25th stay, as this hotel said they did not have my reservation on this stay. I had to wait almost one hour until they admitted that they forgot to process it and put my name on the list, after they confirmed to the travel agency (you use) by sending fax. So there''s some internal problem that made me very upset! You gotta be careful for your client.

Bed shoddily made...nice, but WAY overpriced mini bar. Requested a smoking room, but didn''t get it; requested double occupancy, but got only 1 bathrobe...check-in was terrible, check-out was a breeze, probably poor management, like so many in Manila.

Very good price with asia-hotels.com. Large rooms with balcony and a sitting area. I''ll book it again, next time in manila!

I will definitely recommend this to a friend. The roomboy and the supervisor are really kind. The only thing I encounter is the billing assessment if you won''t be tidous with your expense you might wind up overpaying. But all this things are resolved right away in the front desk. Our staying is not too bad. We are really happy in overall assessment.

The westin hotel was very good! Most staff there were very kind and hotel has nice restaurants! I''ve been to Italian restaurant, and the taste and atomosphere were very good! They also have nice swimming pool! I enjoyed the city-resort type style!

The price given to us by asia-hotels was very good. However, this hotel is not worth the price quoted to us by the front desk. The lobby and the restaurant are very elegant but the room was rather bland.

Service in the restaurant was excellent but staff in the front desk need lessons in proper etiquettes. Why should a customer be made to feel guilty for requesting for a non-smoking room? The front desk clerk was annoyed that he had to give us non-smoking room "FOR THE SAME PRICE AS A SMOKING ROOM". Since a non-smoker should have to pay more than the smoker? I definitely won''t go back to that hotel anymore. Keep up the good work coz you are the only ones who knows how much a hotel rooms worth. Vulnerable travellers need you guys. Thanks.
