Location
Majestically located in the very centre of the town of Split which used to be the Emperor's quarters of the Diocletian's Palace, the Slavija Hotel Split is just a few minutes walk from all the major attractions as well as the main bus terminal, airport shuttle terminal, railway station and ferry. Both fish market and main market is just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel while the nearest beach is just 10 minutes walk away.

Slavija Hotel Split Guest Reviews
It is said it's in the palace and it is, but inside is just normal 3* hotel, nothing special. Very simple. The room was clean, only basic amenities - soap and a sachet of shampoo. There was no lift to the entrance as well as to the room, so it would be difficult for someone with a big luggage. Convenient location since it is in centre, but it gets quite noisy in the night from the bar on the other side of the hotel.

Can't fault cleanliness, however the reception and breakfast service staff are disinterested, the only additional facility was access to a fridge of water (which I had to pay over the odds for) and the breakfast was unpleasant - the milk, yoghurt and cream cheese were warm, the frankfurters were cold, the selection in general was poor. I felt unwell for the rest of the day. The room also had an overpowering smell of disinfectant and the bed only had access on one side. There was no bin in the main bedroom and the bathroom was without shower gel and the corner shelf in the shower was broken and sat in the shower tray. The towels were excellent quality and the bed was comfortable.
