Location
The beachfront Skycity Hotel is within easy access to Darwin city centre and over six kilometres to Darwin International Airport. During free time, visitors can stroll along George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens and Bicentennial Park.
Rooms
All 120 spacious and tastefully appointed rooms have balcony. Each unit comes with mini bar, refrigerator, tea/coffee maker, air conditioning, TV/DVD player and bathroom.

Skycity Darwin Hotel Guest Reviews
As a 5-star hotel, it felt more like a motel with nice facilities. We were on the 3rd and highest floor and there was a free laundry room with ice machine. it completely reminds me of the highway motels in the USA. The Reception is small and at best have at most 2 staff. The concierge staff multi-tasks as bellboy, car driver, etc. The wifi in the lobby only started working on the last day of our 4-day stay. Housekeeping kept missing a dead cricket in the bathroom throughout our stay. The one bedroom suite was very good with great air conditioning, jacuzzi tub and great shower but still lacks true 5-star quality. The location is only about 10 minutes from downtown Darwin yet it's too far to walk because of the hot sun. There is a bus service that comes once every 30mins. I definitely would not stay there again. The Medina Vibe (4-star) at Waterfront is far superior to Skycity's warehouse style roofing.

Much prefer to stay here. I like the iPhone/iPod docking station in the room. This is one of the better hotels for Darwin, it is away from the noisy back packers, and is recently renovated.

Stayed in the 1 bedroom suite. Room was pretty good/spacious - but had a few issues. Biggest complaint though was the 'supposed' heated pool which by global standards was not heated - and was in fact far to cold to swim in for majority of our stay (except for one day when it was very hot). It was set to bone chilling 22-23 degrees - wheras upon searching internet found that heated pools should normally be around 27-28 degrees (27 for lap pool, 28 for recreational use). This was pretty annoying as coming from cold climate (Melbourne) we were really looking forward to swimming - one of the reasons we chose this place over others was it being advertised as having 'largest heated pool in darwin' (which was very misleading as pool would have been this temp without any heating). Staff were quite unwilling to do anything about this - and noticed pretty much nobody was using pool while we were there. Also internet very poor - unable to use it for Skype calls.

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times now and will continue to do so. The hotel staff are always friendly and helpful and the facilities are more than adequate. The seafood buffet for dinner is great value. The pool overlooks the beach and you can enjoy a cocktail sitting in the pool watching the sunset ... just magical. The hotel provides a bus service to the town but it is easier to have your own transport, the shops are not close by. This hotel is ideal for a relaxing time-out holiday.

Skycity Darwin is in a great location on the beach and the best thing about the hotel is the swimming pool and adjoining area. The rooms/accommodation is very tired and frankly very poor for a so called '5 star' hotel!! Finally it is always freezing anywhere indoors.
