The Thian Hock Keng Temple in Singapore is the oldest Chinese temple in the area. Founded in 1842 by a group of Chinese craftsmen, the local Hokkien community recognizes this temple as the most important one in their culture. During its earliest times, this ancient temple was a well-known prayer house situated on the shoreline of the Telok Ayer Basin. Getting There
Those visiting the Singapore area should fly into the Singapore Changi Airport. There are a number of transportation modes available at the airport that travellers can use to get to the Thian Hock Keng Temple. The Changi Airport Skytrain will transport arriving passengers to different stations throughout the city. Travellers can also use the Mass Rapid Transit system. The MRT is connected to the airport and can take you to the Thian Hock Keng Temple area. Once you reach the area, you will be able to get around by foot or bus.
