We found it difficult to locate the entrance door as it was tucked away to the side. After some time in the lift a kind customer advised us that if we wanted to go anywhere we had to "swipe" the lift with our card/key. We stayed on the Norman Foster floor. The bathroom area seemed to dominate the entire room with the lovely sinks being a touch impratical as each time water was used it ended up on the walls.

Lovely staff and a truly excellent meal. The rooms are fabulous designs but in the execution they are lacking. For a design hotel this is a shortfall. The desk light shines into the eyes of the person working, the shoe horn was too square for the average heel, the roomsafe did not open properly and required a credit card to prize it open, and the shower nozzle was dangerous. It turned on from very hot to cold. If you put the shower on to test the warmth, you were scalded and could not reach the controls to turn it up! (which is of course counterintuitive) But this was all compensated by some truly warm staff, fabulous uniforms, great logos... and a truly memorable meal. I would stay again but would be careful with the fittings..

This is considered a designer 5 star hotel. I agree that it's a pretty interesting hotel, where each floor is designed in a different style. I got the "steel" floor. The bathroom is all glass walls, so no privacy. it's very sleek. but it's not very functional. everything was desiged for aesthetics, not for comfort. No place to hang towels. the bathtub was a really low long steel tub that took forever to fill with water, so i just gave up. The bed had a slanted steel shelf behind it, as opposed to a headboard. No way to lean against it since the bed didn't actually touch the wall. That's what i mean about functionality. Everything was for looks. Considering how very expensive the hotel was, I expected to be comfortable but everything was just "off". And the location is awful. Nothing is within walking distance. You have to take public transportation. I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you just want to check out the different floors.
