Could not wait to leave ! Not that these reviews mean anything but this place was a joke where should I start ? Lets see, I was told I couldn't have a bottle of beer at penny machine because I wasn't a diamond club member but I could have a draft beer, and the waitress said " that's the way it is " with a arrogant rude tone, all smoking areas were in the nickel machine areas and not one smoking area in the penny machines and you had to be playing to smoke, went through line at buffet but used separate entrance because I wasn't diamond club member but the cashier was the same how many of your tourists are diamond club members ? Room service took over an hour for us to find out that they had knocked on the wrong door and didn't bother to call or follow up they just sent it back and then Kathy didn't offer an apology or even offer to send us another pizza so we ordered pizza out and it was there in 25 minutes. Went to play a machine around 1 a.m. to find a homeless guy in 2 seats sleeping, gee maybe the security should worry less about passing out mardi gras beads, I have never been treated this way in vegas and will not return if the trip was free ! My view was good and not that I can blame the casino but only saw beach from room once due to the fog. I would say that valet and bell desk were the best and check in was fast but your casino workers alone took atlantic city off of my places to visit again list. I chose showboat because I had read some reviews and they were the lesser of the evils when it came to customer service and the room rates were affordable. Spend a little more and go to vegas because this place is horrendous ! By the way the lady at the buffet (Shu) was awesome and deserved the large tip we left there just because of her attitude perhaps she should offer some training on customer service. Just toatally disappointed that I wasted my hard earned vacation time there ! Oh and didn't have any luck either....visit Taj Mahal at least you can get a drink there. Casino must be going broke if they have to discriminate about who does or doesn't qualify for a bottle of beer.

We stayed Jan 16-17. Our room was clean and smelled good. The beds and chairs were comfy. The only problems were hidden fees, rude staff and minor room damages. We booked the room for 30. That was for the room and taxes, when we got there they charged an extra 10 for a mandatory fee and then put a 100 hold on my debit/credit card. We never been there and had questions. The front desk was rude, they talked extremely fast and rushed us away. The players club was the same way. Lots of walking.

Had business in the AC area. I arrived for a late checkin. Valet, baggage and check in was fast, friendly and efficient. Good breakfast at Mansion Cafe Great Mid-week Price for the room as well.

Not the nicest nor cleanest of rooms but a good deal for the cost of the stay.

went away with my two girlfriends and had a great time. loved that there was a free shuttle offered to Caesar's and Harrah's (both owned by the same company as Showboat). Jitney is super cheap and easy to use, cabs are a little over priced for AC. Only complaint - there was some loose tiles/molding in the shower. Yuck.

I was able to acquire a 2 night stay @ the showboat for just pennies on the dollar. I can't believe how nice my room was, it was huge! the bathroom was huge too. I felt like I was giving a suite by accident or something. I feel like I under paid....I'm already planning my next trip back and I'm dragging 3 of my friends with me. Only draw back is that the room next to me had a dog in it that kept barking, luckily he stopped at night other than that I had a great time, even when losing my $ at the slots LOL

It was my second time going to Atlantic City and I had stayed at the Showboat before. I love this hotel. For the price paid, it can't get any better. There are so many things you can do inside and outside of it. The casino has a great energy and the drinks are well made and worth the price (the hurricane was a fantastic drink and with the buy one get the refills for half off, that's all I drank!). The service was good, whenever I had a question, it was addressed promptly and in full. The rooms were pretty basic but very comfortable though there was a stain or two on the curtain (guess you can't get everything out!). I would definitely stay here again. There is a Johnny Rockets (which is all I need for convincing), it's right on the boardwalk, there are many surrounding casinos, and the Safari Steakhouse is to die for.

It was a decent room and perfect for a simple overnighter after a show at the House of Blues. Price was good since it was a Sunday night in October. The room decor was relatively outdated.

Got down to AC, checked in, no problem. Dumped off the bags, noticed that other than the comfy bed, everything was in rough, dated shape. Went down to the Casino, gambled, had a great time. Came back to the room(first room #1153), to get ready for dinner. As my wife closed the bathroom door, SHE NOTICED THERE WAS A PAIR OF LADIES UNDERWEAR HANGING ON THE BACK OF THE DOOR!!!! We figured if this wasn't cleaned, what else was there. We haggled with the front desk supervisor to change our room and give us a little something for the pain and suffering, I guess that was worth a new room and $25!! Get to the new room and noticed there were only 2 bath towels. You should get 4, especially if you have someone that has long hair. So the next day passes, we get back to our new room(#1467) around 1 AM. Bed is not made and there was never an attempt to clean this room at all. Made an attempt to talk to the front desk about this and we were brushed away with "please talk to House Keeping about this". I wanted some of the rate discounted since I wasn't given a full service for what we paid. Also, the "Gold Club" comps and service are the lowest I have seen anywhere. For the amount of gambling we did over the 2 days, we got about 1/4 as we would have at Foxwoods or Mohegan, or at least what the Tropicana offered in AC.

My experience was wonderful. I never stayed overnight at an Atlantic City Hotel. The hotel was very nice. The room was very clean and spacious. I look forward to going back one day.

Hotel was very nice for the price. Showboat was one of the more "reasonably" priced hotels in AC on a weekend night. I was very satisfied with the decor and cleanliness of the room (no flat screen TV - but I wasn't there to watch TV). Came to town to see the Arctic Monkeys playing at the House of Blues(inside the Showboat Hotel) so this was super convenient. We wanted to do a quick trip on the cheap and this worked out beautifully.

It was OK. The location is great. You have plenty of night life, bars and attractions around you. The room itself though left something to be desired. Half the lightbulbs were burned out in my room; the iron was missing; room service came way to early; and when I asked room service to come back at a later time, she said to put the Do Not Disturb tag on the door, I informed her I didn't have one. She just shrugged and walked away. I had to bounce around on the phone service prompts to find someone to get me one.

This was our frist trip to Atlantic City. The Showboat has a great price and is on the boardwalk. The Hotel itself i a little older but for the price of your room compared to the others what do u expect. When we arrived the vallet guy was awesome in assisting us, I would recommend vallet parking rather than selfparking it is $10.00 but it was a 1 time fee for our whole stay. It beat trying to get the luggage out of the car too Bellhop does it all right there. when we checked into the room the legs on the furniture are scared from being hit with a vacum and the door frame was scarred also we stayed in a handicap room so figured it was from wheelchairs, well there were some spots on one of the beds so we called down to have new bedding brought up. The guy brought it up put it on the spotted bedding and said ok, I was like ah no you can take these with you then we made up our own bed..not a big deal just unusual, the next day we walked all day it was beautiful we came back to our room and maid service had been there our beds were made and towels changed. When I got up in the morning I was a little disappointed to find no toilet paper though. How do you service a room and not put toilet paper? ok to shorten the rest of the story when bell hop came to get our luggage we realized why the furniture and doorway was scuffed up he hit everything with the cart and laid our suitcase longways across and tried getting it out the door by repeatedly pushing into the door not kidding like 6 times we thought he was gonna break the whhels off. Then I realized why the reviews say some of the things they say. It is not the hotel that is bad it is some of the staff that is making it bad. We went to the front desk and asked to talk to management I am deaf by the way, the lady says I will call and u can talk to them on the phine, huh r u kidding me?? I said that wont do me much good will it being I cant hear.. She then said a hold on. I told her I wanted to see management. After about 20 mins of waiting management came down. I dont think management was notified as soon as we put in the request I think some of the ladies behind the desk help cover up some of the complaints. Make sure you see management do not talk to them on the phone. When we met with them and told them all the small stuff they were wonderful and said they were not contacted by phone. they also said thanks for letting them know what was happening, they gave us some comps also. It is the staff that is makeing the bad reviews about this hotel for the price and the location I will stay there again but I will not allow the staff to ruin my trip. I will talk with management at first problem instead of last. I will make sure I see them in person and not over the phone as I dont believe it is really them u r talking to over the phone.

If it wasn't for the amazing concert i saw.....the rest of the night i was on the phone with non helping....non caring managers......outright robbery of federally prescribed meds by security guards....refusal to get the police.....and a 100 hold......never spoke of....and specifically asked but have a 3-5 day hold on 100$ from a checking acct...without acknowledgement and refusal to fax bank so that it can be over ridden....Stay Away from this hotel......they own the town and treat you as such.....ruined trip. ...Jay
