Shinagawa Prince Hotel Main Tower Tokyo

Considering we choose this hotel to stay in each time we visit Tokyo, we were disappointed this time. Previously each visit we have been upgraded due to our continued patronage... not this time! The bathrooms smelt of urine and the rooms were stuffy, despite setting air con on coolest. No free Wi-Fi -even in lobby, is disappointing! If it weren't for the location, I wouldn't bother again!

Apart from the location, right across Shinagawa JR station, it's just a hotel for you to sleep at night. Expect long queue during check in/out because of group travels. Internet in public areas can't be accessed. Need router for in-room wi-fi, which not available during our stay. Guest relation was not helpful at all, when I asked about it the response was to ask the receptionist.

Hotel is near to Shinagawa station which is part of the JR Yamanote line. You can get to almost everywhere in Tokyo from this station

Neat and tidy! Just a sensible tokyo hotel room - but very convenient as a launch pad to get around Tokyo. Just minutes from everything of interest to an Australian visitor doing the top ten cultural and historical sites plus a marathon! Absence of free wiFi was a nuisance - it's 2012 - come on Japan!

Just over the road from JR with easy access to all areas of Tokyo and Shinkansen for further afield. Also private railway with direct line to Haneda airport and underground connections. Rooms a bit bigger than Tokyo average with all necessary amenities. Higher rooms at the rear have views of Mount Fuji. The aircon in our room didn't work too well but guest services readily moved us to a better room and moved all our luggage for us whilst we went out shopping. Have already booked to stay again.

I've been staying at this property every visit to Japan. To me, you can not beat it's location. It is located right across the Shinagawa Station. From there you have access to the JR railways, Keikyu lines and even the Tōkaidō Shinkansen (high speed railway). The staff can speak English well and are very attentive to your needs. You have a convenience store, food court and even the Epson Shinagawa Aqua Stadium and other attractions. Amenities are pretty much standard and rooms are very nice and clean. You have to understand that in Japan the rooms are a little smaller than what you are used to so don't expect to really "stretch out" after you unpack. Closet space are not that big so you may end up keeping some things in your suitcase. At this time there is NO room service so you do have to go out for dinner. The hotel has some very nice Japanese restaurants along with others that serve American style food. The rooms do have paid internet access and there are vending machines on every floor. Overall for me it is a good value and I can save extra "yen" to buy gifts to take home.

The hotel is excellently located near Shinagawa Station. As this was our first trip to Japan, we found this to be to be very convenient for sightseeing. Our twin room was located in the main tower, had excellent amenities and was very clean and spacious. Would recommend the Green Cleaning service, where you receive a gift voucher for 500 yen per person (redeemable at any of the hotel shops or restaurants) in lieu of daily room clean. Also the 7/11 store just outside the hotel is great for picking up cheap meals. Would definitely stay here again.

Brilliant location. Literally a two minute walk from the Shinagawa JR train station which is a main rail hub and can get you almost anywhere in both Tokyo and Japan. The room was clean, admittedly the hotel is beginning to show its age, the room was certainly not big, but for a hotel room it was fine, I was only in it to sleep.

Our 32nd floor room had a great view of the City. On one day we could see Mt. Fuji. Ideal location close to many rail lines. Room good size by Tokyo standards. Light colors and great aircon. Long lines for breakfast at weekends.

This hotel was our first hotel experience in Japan. The location was fantastic, walk 100m from the train station and you are there. The staff were great and spoke very good english. The only downfall of the hotel is that it didnt have complimentarty internet, it cost 1050 yen for one day. Overall, I would stay there again.

We did our booking when 50% reduced rate was on offer so it was certainly great value. The room is compact, but sufficient and has most of the amenities we need, great being on a non-smoking floor. SPH is just opposite Shinagawa JR station so if you have a JR pass it is most convenient for getting around Tokyo. The service is exceptional in that they not only provide us with the usual tourist maps, but help us with specific places we wanted to go to. They even help us wheel our luggage across to the station when they saw us juggling with our luggage. This is the second time I have stayed there and will do so again.

Excellent situation right next to Shinigawa station which is one of the major hubs in Tokyo. Excellent facilities on site and good service from all of the staff. This is a very large hotel and is very busy in the shared areas but rooms are comfortable and quiet.

I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions because of its close proximity to train stations and transfer facilities to the International Airport (Narita). For first time visitors, please make note of the Shinagawa Prince Hotel facility you are staying at as there are four different check-in desks for each of the four main hotel buildings. Some of the individual hotels allow you to check in upon arrival; others are more regulation-restricted and won't check any one in until the posted 2 p.m. check-in hour.

The location of hotel is quite convenient and close to Shinagawa station; shingansen, JR line, Toei Line, Tokyo Metro line, etc. The supermarket around there closed at 11pm. Not to difficult to find out food shop/restuarant. From/to airport, there is airport limosine stop in front of hotel so it's easy to access.

We booked and stayed in the Twin Room for 4N from 2010 Feb 10-14. The hotel location is very good, directly opposite the Shinagawa JR station in less than 5 minutes walk. The room is clean and neat, considerably spacious in terms of Japan standard, and the room pricing is comparably cheap for a Twin Room booking during then. The service staff is polite and friendly.
