Great friendly staff. After reading some of the reviews was a little leery of the neighborhood. Absolutely no problems whatsoever on the streets and the hotel has easy access to subway lines. Just one subway stop to Bowling Green for trips to Ground Zero, Ellis Island etc. Just a short walk to Juniors for fantastic breakfasts as well. Another short walk to Brooklyn Heights. Loads of policemen around for directions. It really is very safe.

Easy and cheap to get to and from JFK Airport takes around half an hour by Subway and Airtrain costing $7.50. There are 2 subway stations serving different lines that are within 250 yards of the hotel that will get you in to Manhattan within 15 minutes. The local area isn't great but it's a decent trade off compared to the price you'd have to pay for a room of a similar standard in Manhatten. Room were clean and tidy and of a good standard. I was particularly impressed with the large TV, with lots of options to choose from and many of the channels were in HD. One gripe I had was the price of the room service and other facilities. There were small bottles of water left on the desk in the room priced at $3.50 each. Disgusting really considering there was a fast food place around the corner selling 2 large slices of pizza and a Coke for $4. Just seemed like they were trying to rip people off. The hotel's Wi-Fi was pricey also, although there were 4 PCs you could use free for 45 minutes at a time in the lobby. The staff were on the whole polite, friendly and on hand to help with your needs, although I don't expect a maid to be knocking on my door when i've hung the do not disturb sign from the door. On the whole though I enjoyed my stay and if I was to consider travelling to New York again i'd think about using the same hotel.

very nice hotel, clean, modern, pleasant staff. great location, steps away from the fulton mall, subway, restaurants...rooms are tiny though, great for 1 or 2 people.

Went to Brooklyn to visit our grandson. We enjoyed the stay at the Sheraton, they made our stay very enjoyable.
