Sheraton Austin Hotel At The Capitol Guest Reviews
Rooms were nice, beds weren't up to Holiday Inn Express, and I listened to the elevators going up and down all night. Other than the fact it's an older hotel, it was OK.

It was a beautiful hotel in a prime location. THe only problem I had was there were a lot of teenagers at the hotel and then tended to be loud at night. The staff was friendly and the room was clean and comfortable.

When I arrived at the Sheraton I was somewhat disappointed about the location of the hotel it was quite close to the Interstate and upon approach not scenic. But I was duly surprised. It was on the contrary located in one the most convenient spots for first time visitors to Austin. Walking distance to Capital and surrounding entertainment spots. The staffs were quite welcoming, pleasant and helpful. I was initially placed in a room facing the Interstate, I requested another with an alternate view and I was pleasantly surprised. My new room had a great view of downtown and the pool area. When I walked it the room was proper neat, smelled fresh and clean and had two bottles of water gratis. I have to say the price was quite reasonable for the location. I was truly impressed and they have a pretty decent Crab Cake if you should decide to get room service. I have stayed at the other hotel in that location and I have to say I would certainly return to Sheraton if the price remains reasonable.

Best location for the price. Its a nice conference center hotel that is within walking distance of live music venues on Red River between 6th and 10th streets. Very convenient to walk to 6th Street and various downton destinations including the Capitol. If you self park, beware that you need a ticket from teh front desk that allows you to come and go as you please. Its very frustrating if the front desk fails to ask you whether you did valet or self park (which they did in my case).
