When you consider the location is directly across from the the szx railway station, it's a good value for under $220 a night. If you pay more than that, you will be disappointed with the rooms and cleanliness. It's an older hotel.

Wow! this place is the place to stay in Shenzhen, More than what we expected, just a short walk to the big shopping area. Very close to Train station 5min walk don't take taxi, be careful crossing roads in Shenzhen cars don't stop even on zebra crossings(lol)

Please be sure to drink the complimentary water given by the hotel. The Evian water in the mini bar will cost you $5 USD or $45HKD per bottle! The concierge will tell you that complimentary water is in the mini bar! Don''t listen to them, they do not know anything. It will be a waste of time to talk to them. Yes, I would recommend this hotel to a friend.

The only problem with this hotel is the noise from the trains.

Shangri-La Hotel Shenzhen

For a Shangril-La, the hotel was not up to reputation. Room was small. I was travelling with my family, and I went to Shanghai, while my parents stay in Shenzen. Staff was not helpful when I return from Shanghai using the 10 PM flight. My parents said they could not open the room that I already reserved because I must be there in person, although my father said he will took over the room for me using his credit card. In fact they almost cancelled my reservation. Only after my father complained to the Manager did they let my father opened the room for me.

Floor attendants on every floor makes the response time on most any request almost immediate. We asked for extra towels and received them almost before hanging up!

As opposed to Hong Kong, just a few hundred yards away, Shenzen has a hard time with English - most of the hotel staff did not speak English which made for interesting communications challenges.

If you have kids, be sure to request a room overlooking the train station - our kids loved watching the big trains come in and out of the station. Best feature of the hotel is its location - right near all the main shopping areas. Outdoor pool was nice although the surrounding construction sites made it a bit noisy.

No heat in room - staff had to put a temporary portable heater in room. Toilet only worked sporadically. The bathroom sink drain did not work. The door to the room did not close without effort. The door to the refrigerator mini-bar was broken. The sofa and chair had stained and unsightly. Closet space was minimal.

A great hotel with friendly staff. The price found for this 5 star hotel is second to none. Definitely would recommend to friends. Thanks.

Shangri-la is well known to taxi operators and this makes it easy to move out and back. However, the reception area seems to be always congested with all sorts of people and does not exude the image of a five star hotel. The business centre is a place where you feel welcomed especially the staff in charge.

Poor service during check-in. Had to look around for luggage assistant. Not allowed to seat in the lounge without buying a drink when we were wating for transport after check out. I will not recommend to a friend.

We paid $US109 for a room + B&B and it was well worth it. Internet access quickly set up in room (the first hotel who''ve ever managed it for us!). The room was pretty babyproof! Breakfast is a must and room service is great. The view from the revolving restaurant is worth a look even if you don''t eat there - avoid the hotel bar and mini bar as they are REALLY expensive.

The shuttle bus from Lo Wu station to hotel is great - follow taxi signs to find it - don''t bother in the other direction though unless you have loads of luggage as it goes a very long way round - so long we were worried we were being taken to Hong Kong airport.

Convenient location. Weekend rates very good value. Dim sum breakfast excellent value - high quality HK$56 per head - good waitress service - as much as your greed allows - Western breakfast expensive standard buffet.

We had originally requested limo service or taxi service and was told it was available. When they were there, it wasn''t available to them. That is the only bad comment they had. Marcia for Jane.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I planned my engagement for when I was going to stay at this hotel. The staff was wonderful and I could never imagine any more help. They were simply perfect in making this occasion the best it could be. Absolutely perfect. The staff was the best. The hotel room and facilities very nice. BTW..she also said, "yes".

Expensive price for China country. Rooms 1st class. Breakfast 20/20. When we stayed there, there was construction between the railway station and the hotel so maybe wait 4 months to go to this place because of noise day and night.

A true value hotel. Superior by all means. Shangi-La hotels offer you luxury to it''s best in accommodation. The cafe was excellent with a wide variety of meals.. All incredible. Very spacious rooms, with the quality you expect and more. I would not trade this hotel for any other after a long dame of work at the factories.
