Conveniently located in Xiang Gang Zhong Lu, the Shangri-La Hotel is close to the commercial district of Qingdao and approximately 40 minutes drive from the Qingdao International Airport. Surrounded by German colonial history, beaches, parks as well as Mountain Lao, this property is within walking distance from the Municipal Government Building and World Trade Centre.

Shangri-La Hotel Qingdao Guest Reviews
This hotel caters more for business travelers. Would definitely recommend the Horizon Club. The extra charge is well worth the perks offered in the lounge - complimentary breakfast, newspapers, all day tea/coffee, evening cocktails, free usage of broadband internet, meeting room for presentations etc. Coffee shop food was OK. Chinese food at the Shang Palace was of excellent value and quality. Lively band at B.A.T.S. Good Tsingtao Beer. Hotel is conveniently located. Lots of other restaurants and shopping within walkable distance. There''s a Carrefore and Jusco nearby. Hotel doesn''t have info about sightseeing and local tours but are helpful in gathering info. We did a day trip to Laoshan. The tour group guide spoke no English. We could have hired a taxi with English speaking driver, but felt safer with numbers. Overall, a pleasant getaway from Hong Kong.

The western food in the hotel leaves a lot to be desired so it''s best to stick to Oriental cooking. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and the hotel is in a fairly quiet area of Qingdao. I would certainly revisit this hotel.

The location is near the waterfront promenade, which is an interesting diversion. The indoor pool is 25 metres and great for fitness. Gym likewise. Overall, I would return to this hotel.

This is a great hotel with excellent facilities and at discounted rates, a steal. Location is most convenient for business but also easy access to beaches and sightseeing spots. Any request (extra sheets, late check-out, etc) I had they responded positively. Business center is modern and staff helpful; lobby lounge was good for a casual meeting but they also have meeting tables in the business center. The only negetive was a "ceasar salad" ordered in the lobby lounge - not exactly a classic. Otherwise, good.

It was a good decision to stay and Shangri-La in Qingdao. Worth evry Rmb. If there was any negative thing to say was that at dinner 2 white wines offered in the list was not available. But the one chosen was much better. B Rgrds, JS.
