I travel on business primarily. My primary need is for a decent hotel offering good value for money. A fast (broadband) internet connection is extremely important. I find that in China, small 3-star hotels offer this. But - the larger 4 and 5-star hotels (including Shanghai Hotel) fail miserably. The internet connection is a pain in Shanghai Hotel. I wasn''t able to connect at all and the staff weren''t able to help. For the price being charged, this hotel certainly needs to do a lot more. They said they have a bus to drop me at the airport but it turned out the bus starts at 7.30 am earliest while my flight was at 7 am. What''s the point? I''m unlikely to go to this hotel again. Too expensive but basic necessities are absent.
