Shaftesbury Premier Hyde Park London Hotel Guest Reviews
Nice quiet room on ground floor at back of Hotel.

This is an appalling hotel, and was only booked as it was a recommended hotel on HotelClub. By point of comparison, I stayed in the Hilton London Bridge for under £100 booking through [your website] a few weeks earlier as it was a recommended hotel. There was no comparison whatsoever. Rooms are small, bathrooms are miniscule, service is poor and the general concierge areas reek of a cheap bed and breakfast. In actual fact, the [website] booking area suggested that this room was reduced from over £300 to £69. I find it difficult to believe that anyone has ever paid £300 to stay there, and would suggest this was a cheap marketing trick to con people into thinking it is a four or five star establishment and book. Very poor

Despite serious flooding problem in hotel just 24 hours before, most facilities up and running well. However, aircon failed in room allocated, but immediate move to upgraded room was carried out without quibble. Have stayed here several times before and despite some rooms now looking a little tired the overall efficiency of staff, non-smoking policy throughout, excellent breakfast buffet and location all mean that I would not hesitate to stay here again.

This was the smallest and most crowded room I've ever stayed in. No room for a laptop on the desk because of the (small) TV sat on the same. A simple wall bracket would make so much difference. The bathroom was minuscule. I am of average height and build and had to squeeze into the shower through a gap no more than two toothbrushes end to end so I would challenge anyone remotely rotund to be able to shower at all. The internet - whilst "free" (i.e. included in the price) was less than reliable. All in all, for a one-night stay when you're on a short trip (not much luggage) it's bearable but I wouldn't recommend a stay any longer than that.

Good location and friendly staff. But noise insulation is very bad, as is the selection of channels on TV (for those who bother about these things!). Mini bar was unstocked, not even a bottle of water. For a 4-star hotel it should be better, though price-wise it´s not too bad (for London standards).
