A nice old hotel that has lots of character

A pleasantly situated country club style hotel with good recreational amenties on the fringe of London. Poorly signed for those using public transport to get to Selsdon centre. Aged window frames draughty and noisy in high winds. Staff unfamiliar with concept of pre-paid voucher delayed checkout

Facilities are good, but the hotel has very bad acoutsics. This was made worse by the hotel permitting a function with a very loud rock band to continue until 1 am. Restaurant Service reminded me of John Cleese in Faulty Towers

We enjoyed our time at the hotel, there was only a few minor things I feel could be improved. When we arrived at the hotel our door was already open which was a bit shocking! And lateron discovered that we had no kettle in the room. I understand that it is a very old building - but a beautiful one I might add. Although the windows in our room had a lot of mould and rust on them which was not very nice to look at and some windows did not completely shut so there was a slight draft. But, apart from that the hotel was great and we would definitely return there again. Thank you
