Sefton Hotel Douglas Isle of Man
4.2 out of 5

Very hot rooms even though it was in middle of May due to the conservatory construction. The room had no air-conditioning, the hotel provided a fan, but that did not cool down the room. The staff was friendly enough. I expected that a four star hotel would have air-condition. We asked for a room not facing the conservatory, but no sea-view rooms were available.

The Sefton is one of the best hotel bedrooms I have ever stayed in.

Warning! The atrium rooms might look pretty , but , as they are connected to what is , in effect , a large conservatory with no windows , they are unbearably hot and stuffy [ and we stayed in February ! ] . The air conditioning box was noisy and inefficient . The pool is very small and cold and even the children would not use it - the changing area is shabby . The only public area with enough light to read is a television filled bar . All in all a great disappointment - and a shame as the staff are really nice and helpful !

4 widows having a short break together had a wonderful time at this hotel. Nothing was too much trouble fo the staff and everything was lovely. Our rooms were lovely, comfortable beds and great food. We shall certainly return.

A lovely hotel and the balcony onto the gardens was excellent until a private function was taking place in the gardens, the noise level was so high we had to close the balcany doors and stay in the room. When I complained the situation was very quickly rectified. This is a lovely hotel and I would not hesitate in returning.

Excellent room which was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Felt more like a long stay apartment room than just a 'bed & breakfast' stay. It was a quiet and relaxed stay. The food in the restraunt was excellent if a little pricy and the main bar area could have been more 'cosy' and less like an eating venue.

Nice hotel but the echo from the atrium is a real pain at 4 in the morning, just too noisy at times and way too pricey at 100 quid a night 80 would well and truly suffice.

The food and service in the Gallery restaurant was superb. Housekeeping was a little erratic in respect of minor things such as replacement of toiletries and milk, but these were addressed satisfactorily. We had a standard Atrium room, which was spacious and comfortable. The only niggles were the absence of an outside window and so ventilation and temperature control was difficult. Overall a very good hotel.

Lovely hotel right in the centre of Douglas. Handy for ferry and shops. Staff were very courteous and the room was beautiful with a lovely balcony overlooking the Atrium. My only bugbear would be that for such a big hotel their bar should be big enough to accomodate more people!

Friendly, professional high class hotel with appealing rooms overlooking the atrium area. Menu hugely overpriced, caesar salad for £15! Breakfast service faultless.
