Scenic Hotel is positioned on the edge of Westland World Heritage Park in Franz Josef Glacier and is about four kilometres to Lake Pratt. Travellers can engage in various outdoor activities such as trekking, eco tours and quad biking around the area.

The room was cold and the staff not very helpful. When I checked in I asked about the weather and the "trainee" said, do you think I have a crystal ball?" Later they asked would I like to eat dinner and that they would bring me a menu, but they never did. Was the worst hotel we stayed in in our New Zealand trip.

While the view of the mountains & glacier was great, our stay was spoilt by the noise from the restaurant/bar opposite, which was quite unacceptable - especially for accommodation at this rate.

Our room was great with a view towards the glacier. Check in and out were very efficient and friendly. We were somewhat disappointed with the restaurant as we felt the food standard, quality and range were average. So much so that we sought a local restaurant on our second night

Room was clean and spacious, although furnishings are a bit tired. Come on !! Modernise the place. Location is good and front desk service was good
