Scandic Foresta Hotel is situated high atop a cliff on Lidingo Island, in the centre of the archipelago. The city centre of Stockholm is less than 15 minutes from this magnificent hotel.

Very friendly hotel, magnificent view of Stockholm. Next door to one of Stockholm's wonders - Millesgarden. Rich and excellent breakfast, free wireless. Definitely will stay again.

We have fond memories here. The location may be a few train stops away from the city centre but perched on a hill, the water views and tranquil idlyic setting are worth it. The fast subway connections also make it easy. Eventhough you need to change to an old train to cross the bridge, the little blue carriages are so cute you feel like you are on a ride in Disneyland! However, there is a 10 min uphill trek to the hotel from the quaint train stop so no fun for those with heavy luggage! We had a great time at the Foresta - the counter staff were amazingly friendly, cheerful and helpful (maybe we got them at the right time with the midsummer festivities in the air?), the food we had was superb - we had delicious steaks at the grill restauarant worth the hefty price tag and the inclusive breakfast was nice and sumptuous and the rooms although not posh were modern and welcoming. There are nice touches like the free bikes which you can take to the supermarket down the road.
