Santa Chiara Residence is described as a bed and breakfast and our booking was for "dependence". This turned out to be a room in an apartment in a building down the road. However, this was not a problem for us, the room was spacious and had a reasonable bathroom, and all the facilities one would expect in a hotel bedroom, except a phone. We also had the use of the kitchen there - fridge was handy and we could have cooked if we had wanted. Staff very friendly and helpful and gave us lots of information about Lucca. Breakfast buffet was excellent.

Acceptable location, very attractive price, but a dodgy room with a very noisy air conditioning. On the positiv side, fridge in the "apartment", that was nice.

The place is very cosy indeed. Unfortunately, there is no lift.
