San Remo Hotel Rome
4.8 out of 5

very close to station easy walking distance value for money

There was no shower curtain provided or facility for hanging one in the bathroom. We requested that this be rectified but this request was ignored. Otherwise the room was fine. We found the air conditioning to be noisy, but this was not a big problem to us. The breakfast, apart from the coffee, was adequate. The staff that we dealt with were pleasant at all times. Taking price and location into account we would stay in this hotel again.

This hotel is good value for money, but the facilities are quite basic. We stayed at the 6th (top) floor, where the water pressure was very poor, especially in the morning; the dribbling water was ice-cold. Also, the air-condition was left on max all the time, but we could just as well have left it off, because it made bugger all to the temperature. The staff is friendly and the room was fairly well cleaned, but we were concerned about the hotel security. The room key was big and bulky, so you're expected to leave with reception. However, anyone could have walked in and asked for the key to the room. No one asked to see a key card or something similar. Also, the luggage room is unattended and unlocked. Breakfast is basic. We preferred to eat out instead. In summary, the hotel is basic, but good value for money because of the proximity to Termini.

As the hotel was only a 5 minute walk from the Termini, it was ideal to get to & easy to find. The reception staff were very pleasant & helpful. The rooms were spacious, although a little noisy at the front of the hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and was a good start to the day. All in all we had a wonderful stay in Rome.

The Hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of Termini Station. The room we had was small but clean and perfectly adequate considering one is out and about most of the time. Satff were helpful and polite. Breakfast was the same everyday and again basic but OK. No cooked food. Easy access to public transport but we walked to most of the sights quite happily.

Room was a good size for a double, though we had no hot water for the first 2 days and then when it was fixed it still took 10 minutes for the water to get warm.

I have recently spent a few days in Rome, at the San Remo Hotel, with my wife. The location is absolutely excellent, just a couple of minutes from the Metro and Railway stations, close to the opera theatre, etc. It is very quiet, the breakfast buffet is quite good for an Italian 3-star hotel, the staff is friendly and efficient. If you are looking for a fairly priced dinner, the Wang Xiang Lou Chinese restaurant in nearby via del Viminale is very good, while a good and absolutely not expensive typical Roman restaurant in the centre is Ristorante S. Anna, in via di Sant'Anna, near Largo Argentina. On the basement level of Termini railway station you can find all possible cheap eats, and a 24-hour supermarket as well. If I go back to Rome, I'd definitely return to the San Remo.

.... first of all I'd like to thank all of u for ur help in finding a hotel in Rome for me. The only thing concerning hotel San Remo is, I was shocked, that the elevator did not function during all the time of my staying in Rome and all of guest had 2 carry their luggage by themselves. To the 5th or the 6th floor!!! I believe, there are a lot of elevator service firms in Rome and some of them were able to repair the elevator at San Remo. As for the rest it was a relative good hotel.

We are so happy that we stayed at this hotel. It is a convenient location for both transportation, metro or train, and in the heart of Rome for walking to sights. The front desk, the breakfast room staff and the other hotel staff were all friendly and helpful, whenever called upon. They know their businss and how to make you feel at home. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful stay at a reasonable cost in Rome.

Hotel was very good. The bath was a little shabby but everything else was excellent. Bedroom and bathroom were lovely and the hotel is 5 mins from the train stations, which was useful. Breakfast was lovely and we would definatley stay again.

Hotel San Remo was conveniently close to the main train station and metro stops. Very easy to get to the Coloseum, Forum, Spanish Steps, St. Peters. The hotel was quiet and clean, but the rooms were very small. Also, the windows were sealed shut so we could not get any fresh air. The air conditioner provided minimal comfort. The elevator was a great luxury and very welcome at the end of a long trip of lugging suitcases all over Italy.
