When To Go
Located in the warm Caribbean, Soufriere is often packed with tourists in the winter and spring months from December through May. Summer is host to several events and festivals, which also draws large crowds to the island. In September, the tourist season begins to slack off as hurricane season starts. Although hurricane season technically begins June 1, the season spikes during the fall. Once the end of November arrives, hurricanes are usually no longer a worry. In Soufriere, the climate is mostly classified by the wet season or the dry season, rather than by the four seasons, since the temperatures hardly ever go higher than 32°C (90°F) or lower than 21°C (70°F).
· December through May: Average daily high is 28°C (82°F)
· May through September: Average daily high is 30°C (86°F)

Getting There
Soufriere is relatively easy to get to by way of Hewanorra International Airport or George F.L. Charles Airport. Soufriere can be easily reached in no time at all from North America via major airline carriers such as American Airlines and Continental. There are also inter-island commercial flights for touring the Caribbean.
By water, travellers to Soufriere should consider cruises or ferries. There are numerous cruise liners that make port stops all around the island of St. Lucia. However, make sure you check with your ship’s itinerary as the stops may be brief and not allow time to visit towns like Soufriere. As for ferries, visitors can travel between the islands quickly and easily, but it can be expensive.
St. Lucia is home to many ports, so Soufriere is accessible by yachts and sailboats, which are both greatly encouraged by the island government.
