Saint James Paris Hotel Spa

This is a perfect location if you want to be right in the middle of all the sights. That being said; I thought it was too crowded with tourists and souvenir shops. The staff was very hit or miss, and while the room was nice and comfortable the bathroom was just bad. The shower was so small that I would accidentally turn the water off with my elbow while I was washing my hair.

We were pleased with the staff, who allowed us to check-in early and the rooms were ready. We anticipated a wonderful experience as the lobby of the hotel and the veiw into the interior courtyard was very nice. However, the rooms were less than average. It appeared that the wing of the hotel we stayed in was under renovation. The smell of paint in the hallways was very strong and the hallway had a plastic sheet seperating the areas. The rooms were very tired and worn out. The carpeting in the rooms was stained and was actually rolling up through-out the rooms. The door would actually stick to the floor beacuse of the rolls in the carpeting. Everything was just old and worn out. I would have a hard time staying here again or even recommending the hotel unless it would be to stay in the renovated part of the hotel. The location was great, right across the street from the Metro and very close to the Louvre. There is an area about two blocks behind the hotel that has several restaurant selections.

First impression OK. Lobby nice enough. As we went down the long hallway to the elevator, a large mouse ran in front of us on its way to the restaurant kitchen. The elevator doors opened on our floor to reveal a worn and very dirty hall carpet. We entered our room to find a low ceiling, cramped bedroom, beds that appeared to be army cots, run-down bath. ROOM DID NOT VAGUELY RESEMBLE THE PHOTO ONLINE!! Did I mention the urine smell throughout the room? That was a nice touch. The room was right next to the Louvre, so I guess that was a clue - it was simply too inexpensive for its location. We moved to the Westminster for more money, but worth every cent.

Location is great. Too many smokers and poor ventilation in public rooms.

We had a junior suite. The extra beds for our kids, 8 and 11 y old had not an acceptable standard especially considering the price of the room. Too heavy style. A little modernisation would make the general confort feel better. Otherwise a good hotel in a perfect adress.

The hotel reception staff were friendly but the restaurant and bar staff were unhelpful and slow. Several requests for none feather pillows went unheeded, the lifts often did not work and the stairs were quite unsafe in parts. The location was excellent and the spa area was welcome after visiting paris on foot. We had two suites. One was airy spacious and well set out and the other was very cramped to the extent that you had to climb over the bed to get to the bathroom; you could not walk all the way round the bed. I wish I had checked this point before booking. In short, it fell a little short of what we had expected.

Old hotel, not very good for its category, but with a nice Spa.

We were looking to spend a romantic holiday in Paris and made a specific reservation for a room with one bed for a couple. We received a room with two beds put together. When we asked to change the room, we were told that there was no room that had a proper single queen or king size bed. This is something they should make clear in the reservation.

The Hotel was in the perfect location for the Louvre. Also directly opposite the metro station, so perfect for jumping on a tube and exploring. The Hotel reception and lobby area's are very grand, although our room was not as good as I would have expected. The location is the best thing about the Saint James, and I would stay there again.

The location is very good for visitors to Paris. But price seems to be high compared with the small room and conditions, A little bit old. The service attitude of staff is good.

It's a great stay. The hotel is located at a rather busy street, but the rooms are located at the inside and so you will not hear anything. This hotel has a history.

perfect for families; I stayed there with wife and two children (aged 8 and 11) and we enjoyed the very spacious room; avoid the breakfast (2 min walk and you can grab a nice breakfast and it does not cost you and arm and a leg - as it does in the hotel)
