The staff were friendly and very helpful at all times. Saturday night disco's in Cairns can be noisy for those who do not participate therefore requesting a room on the side facing north [looking toward Shield and Grafton street] makes for a quiet Saturday night and a good nights sleep.

Stayed in many hotels in Cairns. This was one of the best. Check in and check out was easy and the hotel was in a good location for me and very close to restaurants. Paid parking was the only issue otherwise had to leave car on the street. Being close to a local night spot, there can be quite a bit of noise, but can hardly be heard once in your room. Would stay again

Everything i needed was provided. The front counter staff were friendly and efficient. Was away all the day so no contact with cleaning staff but everything was done on my return. Used the bar and restaurant on a number of occasions and very relaxing. Location was good and close to everything.

The price was very cheap for the delux room so we were very surprised that it was very good. Staff very helpful and the location excellent.

service from reception excellent, large room extra queen bed not needed, perhaps a lounge that could double as a bed so when not used can create more space in the room? but bed comfortable to sleep in. good to have fridge, room and reception great breakfast ok , dinner tasted good when we finally got it waiter polite but service way too slow, only people in restaurant and over 1 hour wait for food at 6pm at night. deal through [website] very good, and for us location perfect.

The receptionist when we checked in was rude, mumbled and had trouble meeting the eyes of guests. She initially ignored us for ten minutes whilst she kept talking to another hotel employee. The room, whilst a decent sze and containing two double beds, smelled badly of damp and mildew. It stayed with us for the 24 hours we were in the room. The white curtains were also mildewed. Staff in restaurant were helpful and cheerful as was the receptionist on our departure.

Rydges Plaza was surprisingly good value. My only negative is that the pool and restaurant are currently under construction. If I had known this is advance I would have stayed elsewhere! In hot and humid weather it would be nice to a cool pool to relax by or swim in.
