Rooms have enough space, big windows with a good view. Modern, central located, friendly.

This motel was well appointed and has a microwave and stove top, kettle. Most staff very helpful. The cost of Valet parking was very expensive. We found alternate option for over night parking. I realise this is no fault of the Motel but the wind overnight was terrible and kept me awake most of the night with the rattling of windows and door to balcony. Not sure if another room lower would have helped. Within 5 min drive to Ferry Terminal and 10 min walk to Wellington Cable Car. Restaurant a bit expensive too.

The Rydges Wellington have thought of everything - right down to the least detail ; the comfortable room, the homey feeling, the splendid Buffet B/fast, and above all, the staff who were absolutely remarkable in every aspect. Well done!

i have stayed there in the past and am due back in the near future. On a previous visit, i was disappointed with the level of service in the restaurant and noted this in my review, yet i received no feedback. On this last visit, i was standing at the bar on the saturday evening and had ordered a contreau... watching the rugby on the big screen, just before retiring for the night. the bar lady thought my glass was MT (contreau being clear), emptied it out and aksed if i wanted another drink? she did give me another. on the sunday morning i had coffee from the machine and one could see that it was strong! on the monday morning i had coffee from the machine again and it was clearly see-through (very weak) i tried again in another cup with the same result. the waitress whom i petitioned tried a 3rd time (asking me if i selected the "strong coffee" which i did not dignify with a response. she then called another who opened the machine checked and then said the coffee was ok, and clearly (pardon the pun) it was not! i ordered a long black and was told i would have to pay for it! once again i did not dignify this with a response! (i did pay for it, and expected nothing else! I'm not sure what she was thinking) on the sunday evening i ordered a steak. medium. when it arrived i cut off one end, and it was well-done. i called over the chef (or assistant chef) and showed him and he agreed that it was medium and immediately said he would make another... only to return a few minutes later to show me that it was medium in the middle (the other chef? had cut it through in the middle. i accpeted this. i did not have the inclination to continue... i am sure you agree that the above is unacceptable! i would love to get some feedback on springbokiwi@gmail.com or +64 21 0470475 if my last review was anything to go by, then i will not hold my breath i visit wellington twice every month... i often use the CQ Quality Hotel, and i find that, when they get it wrong, their employees are empowered to FIX it immediately! you amy want to do the same with your staff... on the plus side, i enjoy the location, the on-site gym-swimming facility, and the quality of the breakfast is really good, outstading actually compared t what am accustomed... thanks bryce diaz 0210470475

What a perfect way to spend a romantic anniversary getaway. The staff were helpful both in person and on the phone and we had everything we could have needed. I especially loved the late night movie and dip in the spapool looking out over the city. It was most certainly the nicest and well designed hotel we have stayed in. We will definitely be going back!!

This is potentially a very noce hotel. The facilities are great, it has a real ambience which is sometimes hard to find. The rooms are modestly sized but no so small that you are uncomfortable so just small enough to keep the costs down. Restaurant food, even room service, was very good. Our biggest gripe was the unfathomable air conditioning. It took our whole trip to figure it out, and left us frosty when we were already cold. Instructions suggest calling staff for help, but we really shouldn't need to. When we tried we could not get a reply, which was odd as the reception was always well attended with excellent staff. Overall, with a keener eye for these kinds of details, this could be one we would return to again.

Our stay at Ridges Hotel was just what we asked for on our weekend away in Wellington. The staff were very nice and helpful, our room was very comfy, clean and stylish. The food was lovely too with so much to choose from for breakfast. Very nice place.

The bar area needs and upgrade - it 's tired and not especially clean. Wine glasses should not have other peoples lipstick on them.!! I was looking forward to the Rydges Dream beds but it was an ordinary old mattress in our room - I guess that is beacuse Rydges have only recently taken over this hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

For a $400/nt hotel I was surprised at the very small room, no turndown service, only instant coffee in the room, and a very old tube TV.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I arrived into Wellington early and was at hotel by 10am. I was allowed to go straight to my room. The staff were lovely. I wasn't well my final night and it was no trouble for a late check out 1pm either. I felt very comfortable at this hotel. Well done Rydges!

Relatively new hotel, with corresponding facilities to be expected. Excellent touches such as complimentary lap top with wireless broadband for 20 min per day. Restaurant called Plate, was the outstanding feature, with a broad menu and unbelievable quality of food presented. Service of a very high standard. This was the highest quality hotel I've stayed in of all the Holiday Inns' I've used in Australasia. Just be aware of very noisy housekeeping staff if you wish to sleep in after 0730.

Nice location, friendly reception staff and beautiful decor. But a glass wall between bed and bathroom. I do not want to lie in bed and see my partner do their business. There was no curtain - the twin rooms have a curtain you can pull down - but the king room does not have this. Offputting. Not a great shower. Also the shower is over the bath but no hand rail - slippery and awkward for those of us less nimble. For this reason I would not go back - which is a shame as otherwise a nice place in a nice location with nice staff.

Lovely spacious room and good service a little further from the centre of the city but excellent location for the stadium events -still all walking distance.
