Ruwi Hotel Muscat Guest Reviews
This hotel is in the commercial part of town (you need to take a taxi to get to the bazaars or the main sights or the beaches). It is a comfortable hotel with friendly staff. They serve a very good, reasonably priced buffet lunch.

there is a live band on ground floor playing until 3 o'clock at night. Its music can be heard on 4th floor. Changed to 8th floor and it was ok. Hotel is situated between many main roads, double insualted windows keep the street noise out. Frienldy stuff who extended check-out according to my needs (16:00). Reasonable value for the price. Breakfast is ok, but don't expect a large buffet, it only consists of the very essentials to qualify as "Hot Breakfast Buffet". Its enough to feed you. Location is close to main attractions. It is no problem to move around the city as there is not so much traffic.

2 persons sharing a double room should have 2 towels. We got this after asking. The shower wasn't working as one screw was loose, however I fixed this myself. I think these things need to be checked before next guest arrives.

Pleasant rooms in pastel shades, double-glazed windows and certainly of Novotel standards. Front office staff not particularly helpful and had some difficulty with understanding English. Four bars in-house catering to Arab, Filipino/ Western and Indian music preferences - but can be noisy if one is staying on the floor immediately above. Location is 3-min walking distance to shopping / eating area of Ruwi, as well as to taxis which are half the cost of the ones waiting all day outside the hotel lobby, not to mention shared taxis and microbuses to Muttrah (connecting to Muscat proper) and Qurm.
