Favourite Cities and Hotels in Russia

The capital city of Russia is in rare, select company. As one of the few venerable global hubs on the planet, Moscow should be on every avid globetrotter's shortlist of must-visit destinations. The city simply has it all and offers a peerless combination of old and new. Like Russia, Moscow's history is compelling, gripping and admittedly at times, tragic. With the Soviet-Cold War era in the rear-view mirror and now well caught up in a hyper-capitalist boom - with more decadent and materialistic trappings than you can shake a Hermès scarf at - the city of Vladimir Putin and billionaire oil oligarchs is not your grandfather's Moscow.

It all starts with Red Square in the city of over 12 million people. Moscow's main boulevards emanate from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Kremlin, Saint Basil's Cathedral and Lenin's Mausoleum and serves as the ideal springboard to explore the city's myriad and dynamic monuments, museums, restaurants and nightclubs.
