Royal Solaris Cancun All Inclusive
5 out of 5

There is not one bad thing I can say about this resort. The staff were friendly and available for anything we needed 24-hours a day. The food was absolutely AMAZING, especially Marco Polo! There were plenty of activities for every age. I can not put into words how wonderful the entertainment staff was. They made us feel so welcome and knew us by name. There was a very personal vibe that surrounded the resort. We will definitely be coming back!!

Our vacation was pretty close to perfect, The hotel gives you everything they say they will. The food is very good, the only thing I could complain about would be the need to change the menu at the "fancy" restaurant. The people who work there are VERY nice and will do anything for you! We loved our stay at the Royal Solaris!

I have generally good impression, but the hotel is getting older, needs renovation. Rooms and furniture, especially bathrooms needs redecoration.

Overall it is a good resturant for the price, the staff for the room clean and food servie are friendly. The food is good also. It would be great if we do not need pay extra money for the room change because the previous one assigned for us is noisy and some light bulb is broken.

Hey folks- Just returned from a 6 day trip to the RS & were very pleased with the entire trip. Here's the deal- it's simply a great value resort! It's a clean, affordable & fun place with a terrific beach & pool & is a great spot. The staff is great- rooms were very clean, decent fitness rm, the food was pleasant- not 5 Star but decent buffets/restaurants-again a great value. We didn't expect anymore than a great value & were happy. If you have 5 Star tastes and expectations, go pay the 5 Star prices but if you want a great value in Cancun- it's here!

Roma was outdated but since you come back to your room only for sleeping it didnt bother us. Staff is friendly, pool is awesome, bar is great. Location of the hotel is not that good. You have to take a bus to go somewhere shopping.

The Royal Solaris has not much changed - but it has! The Beach is remodeld with much more sand so that you get the perfekt way into the sea. The Staff is still kindley and very helpfull - the food was the best in all the vacations. The rooms are big and the amenities in there is luxury. The Royal Solaris is every Peso worth you are paying and we well get back in June 2012

This was our 2nd 10 day trip to the same resort! The staff is very kind and everything is spotless. We upgraded to an ocean-view room with a balcony (worth it) which made it even better. Although we went alone we met many couples and families which added to our having a very enjoyalable time.

We spent 7 nights at the Royal Solaris and had a fantastic time!We were looking for a good value (in other words a cheaper place) and after coming back were positively reinforced that we could not have made a better choice. Overall: It is 3-4 star resort. It has several nice pools including a kid one equipped with water slides and fountains in a jungle animal theme. It has a spa (expensive!) but if you hear their timeshare presentation, you can get free and discounted massages as well as discounts on tours. the staff from concierge to waiters to room service were simply lovely! Location: It is located in the Zona Hotelera and has a beautiful beach (shallow water if that's your cup of tea). There is nothing around the hotel expect other hotels and condos and one needs to take a bus or taxi to get to one of the plazas. Rooms: Pretty spacious. All the rooms have either lagoon or ocean view. Ours had a balcony facing the lagoon from where we enjoyed picturesqueness sunsets. Beds and lines are good although pillows are very puffy and small (odd shaped). Included were nice toiletries: soap, shampoo, conditioner, sewing kit, shower cap, and mouth wash. Our room had a great spa jet tab. Food: plenty of it and unlimited. There is a good variety at each meal but after eating there for 7 days w were eager to eat something else. ?The hotel does different theme dinners but they all taste very similar and use the same ingredients. The quality of food is mediocre. For me it was one area where the hotel can be significantly improved.

Hotel staff was great. The hotel is on a very long strip of beach. People complained about the shells on the beach but if you walked out about 20 feet the shells are gone. That's what surf will do, drop stuff where the waves break. If you go out a little further there are no shells or rocks at all. Food was alright at the buffet. The other 2 restaurants were good. The main restaurant is actually located outside of the lobby at the front of the hotel. That is the only way to get in or out. Staff was very nice. Pool area was cleaned every night. There is also one way transportation to whatever the club of the night is. You can get on the bus to go anywhere on the strip. No need to get in a cab. Just go to the front desk and get some pesos. Its the only way to go.

This was not a place that I will go again. The rooms were terrible. When we checked in, the first room we got did not have a lock on the safe. Additionally, my husband and I were only traveling together, and we got a room with two twin beds. I asked for a room with a King and they told me none were available. When I asked for one at the front desk for a lock for the safe, I was told they don't have locks for every safe. Um... then why is it called a safe? I told them I couldnt stay there without a safe, and the manager upgraded us to a room with an electronic safe. This room did have a king size bed, even though we were told none were available. When we tried to shower.... the plug came out and sprayed everywhere. it got to the point where I didnt even shower becuase it was such a hassle to get it going!! Not my idea of a vacation. We did use the marina to ride a Hobie Cat... it was only free for 30 minutes though and it was in the lagoon and not theocean. Still, that was fun. The food was just ok. The problem was, there was not a lot of variety from night to night. The fancy restaurant, Marco Polo, was decent, but again there was not much to choose from. The pool area was nice enough, but it was arranged so weird. The chairs were not really in the sun, and the sun went behind the building by 330 pm. The drinks were weak, but they were free and for the most part made quickly. There were lots of families, and it isnt the type of place I would recommend at all for anyone just looking for a good time. The bellboys were great, as was Andres. Other than that, I would definitely skip this.

The beach was perfect but the waves in november are a bit rough, drinks were flowing but light unless u requested heavy ones. The Pros goes to friendly staff, Beach, , lunch, dinner, better selections especially Marco Polo restaurant option near lobby. Cons go to breakfast --coffee is so weak an food repetitive and rooms had very stiff beds they feel like ur in a motel not hotel and online piks of the golden rooms belong to Grand solaris not royal a bit deceptive.....also the selection of tv cabling bad but the biggest con has got to go to Timeshare Pushers who offer you Excursions in return for ur time usually 3 hours. BUY ur own excursions and forgo the sales pitches especially after just checking in they direct you to their sales clerk who comes off as a host but he's a timeshare seller Beware Also this place is more family oriented who are on a budget an more for kids an not for the romantically inclined or anniversary type couple.. After much talk an investigation RIU Palace an Dreams Hotel close to the shopping mall are far better scenarios for couples an singles looking to make it happen...

The entire stay was excellent. My wife and I were up early every morning with our cup of coffee sitting on our balcony watching the beautiful sunrise over the turquoise blue waters. We can't say enough about the friendly staff and the service they provided us, either by the pool, the lounge or in the dinning room. The hotel was nicely appointed and the pool area is very postcard like. We plan to go back
