Royal Saint Germain Hotel Paris
4 out of 5

This hotel was located a short walk from the St. Placide metro stop. Staff were friendly and very helpful and spoke excellent English. The rooms were quite cosy, but probably on par with Paris standards. Rooms were clean, bathrooms were modern but the bed was two separately made single beds pushed together. Free wifi in the rooms was a nice surprise

For a tourist hotel it does not get much better, the rooms are a good size compared to other big cities and the facilities are fine including a very good buffet breakfast. The position is a 5min walk from Montpanasse station with good Metro links to every destination in Paris. Many resteraunts nearby some quite pricy but try Charlie Birdys round the corner about 5min walk. Our only complaint was that on the first night there was a music festival taking place at Montpanasse that stopped us sleeping after many hours travel,we asked for a different room but the night manager was not really interestd but all in all would stay there again.

A good comfortable and friendly hotel. However the location was a bit further from the Seine and the major attractions than we expected. Notwithstanding that, it was well served by Metro stations and there is a good selection of restaurants in nearby Montparnasse.

The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke English very well. The Hotel location was only about a half hour walk to the Eiffel tower but it was also close to two Metro stations, one being Montparnasse, a major interchange. The free Internet was very convenient. The rooms were well furnished and clean but not very large and unfortuantely the shower pressure and temperature wasn't the greatest but apparently this is the case for most of Paris, other than that it was a very good hotel.

Tastefully modern decor with good sized bed and decent bathroom. The service was friendly and discrete. Great location, but must be said that ist is very much at Montparnasse rather than between that and St Germain!

The location is good with close access to Montparnase. The bathroom in the room was great but the room itself was a little small but ok. For the breakfast is better to get some food at the close by braseries instead of eating at the hotel. The pricing is "let's say Paris", however it could have been lower as the hotel do not offers that much.

Very nice hotel and excellent location, walking distance to The Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Latin Quarter and Notre Dame. Close to many cafes, and near the shops, metro and many buses

We were very pleased with the room and the facilities of the hotel. The location was excellent - between 2 metro stops (on line 4) - and a couple of mins walk to either. Its really easy to get to from the north and east railway stations - dont have to change the line and takes about 15 mins. There are restaurants and bars near the hotel - couple of mins walk either direction. Expect to pay around 8 euros for a beer!! Breakfast in the hotel is 12 euros per person - we did not have - preferred to grab a pain au raisins from the local patiserrie (2 within 1 min walk from hotel) and coffee from Mac Donalds - (1 min from hotel). There is a PC with free internet access or you can pay to use wifi in your room. I would happily stay there again.

Rooms are just bigger than the beds which can be awkward if you have large suitcases and the breakfast at €12pp is not really great value when all around the hotel are dozens of excellent bars, bistros, cafes and boulangeries. That said however there were many good points about the hotel including its' location in the heart of St Germain, comfy beds, free internet and friendly staff. would I stay there again? Yes.

Superior rm w/ Queen bed: European-sized, but nicely appointed. Modern bathroom. Smaller elevator but able to hold my "bubba" luggage. B'fast is extra (12,5E). I got cafe, croissant, fruit locally - minibar/frig can hold small items like yogurt. Noise can be heard, but I'm used to it in NYC. Great location, very friendly and informative staff. Good, detailed h'keeping service. Ample closet/shelving. LCD TV but w/ limited stations. Safe accommodations/locale for women traveling alone. I shall return!!
