Hotel is a little obsolete, but kept clean by the friendly staff. Service can be a little on the slow side, especially in the ground floor restaurant. Location somewhat far from the main shopping areas, but perfect when working at UN ESCAP Headquarters. Easy 10 minute walk, which is a major plus, in the light of the Bangkok traffic gridlock.

Hotel had a small restaurant but the food was always excellent. Reliable taxi service arranged(needed in Bangkok).

Fabulous hotel with large rooms at least four restaurants, a swimming pool and a (small) fitness centre. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast with a mixture of American style and local dishes. Location is quite central but Bangkok traffic is so bad it still takes up to 40 minutes to drive anywhere.

Very friendly bell boys. Pool is average but rooms are very nice. Hotel has many different restaurants so have entrees in one, main in the other and another for dessert!

A very pleasant hotel which was also very good value. Good breakfast too! I would not hesitate to stay at the Royal Princess again.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend. They seemed to be a bit understaffed but everyone was very helpful. The food in the cafe was very good although the breakfast buffet was mediocre.

The hotel is in the middle of the "Old part" of town, which for old, read slum, and is rather sharp contrast to the surroundings. It isn''t a long walk or Cab/Tuk-Tuk ride to a lot of the sights though. The rooms are rather a drab grey, but are clean and do the job. There are 3 restaurants in the Hotel, but the hotel one opposite the lifts does great A La Carte or buffet food at very reasonable prices. The swimming pool is very nice too.

The staff don''t speak great English - which seems the norm in Thailand - but were efficient and did their best.

Very nice hotel with good location to major attractions. Rooms are very good, have recently been refurbished. Staff was taking care of our baby every time we came down to have a meal. Coffee shop and lobby area could do with an upgrading, breakfast was ok, but the asian dishes at the coffeeshop were very tasty.

My colleague and I stayed at the Royal Princess on two occassions during our recent holiday to S.E. asia. We found the Royal Princess to be an excellent hotel and good value for money. It is conveniently located near the old town and many of the other interesting sights. The staff if very helpful and friendly. Always willing to take a few minutes to discuss the city, the languange and other interesting things about the thai culture.

While there, the queen''s sister, for whom the hotel was named after, came in for lunch. Prior to her visit, the General Manager of the hotel showed us around and explained all of the preparations that were being done for her lunch.

I highly recommend the Royal Princess. While there, take time to talk with the people who are working there..

This hotel is located in the UN district but they run a bus service to the popular shopping areas in Bangkok. This has become my favorite small hotel in Bangkok, I stay there every time I visit Bangkok now. It is not as upscale as the "name brand" places on the river but it is great value for money with good staff.

The hotel is fine. I guess its good, but to bad that the location is not great. It is fare from the shopping centers. Don''t take a texi on rush hours from the hotel because they will say no since its to fare.

This is the third time I lodge at the Royal Princess. I choose it because it is near the UN Building, but also because I am very satisfied with its price/quality report. Breakfast buffet is OK. The Chinese Restaurant is definitely very good. Whereas I have not tried the Japanese Restaurant some people whom I met in Bangkok told me it is excellent.

I would definitely recommend this hotel, though not for people who enjoy shopping as it is not in a good shopping area. A taxi ride to World Trade Center takes not less than 30 minutes, and to Sukhumvit at least 40 minutes during most of the day (less in Sunday morning).

From the outside the hotel looks old but tasteful. Unfortunately, the lobby, lifts and corridors inside just look dated. An effort has been made to modernise the rooms with new furniture and the deluxe rooms are very spacious and clean. Buffet breakfast in the cafe is somewhat conjested with food often needing replenishment. Location not ideal for shopping and sightseeing, but not too far either. Overall the hotel offers good value for money.

It was o.k. nothing extraordinary. One thing: when you ask at the reception for a metered taxi, it is expensive.

Excellent location. We had only 1 morning in Bangkok and were able to get to the Grand Palace comfortably. Good service, clean rooms. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel itself was fine but we would not stay there again because of the location. To get anywhere involves half and hour stuck in a taxi in the Bangkok gridlock. Other hotels near a sky-train station would be much better.
