Location
Located between Kapalua Bay and Lahaina, the Royal Lahaina Resort is only 4 km south of the Kapalua airport.
Rooms
The Royal Lahaina Resort offers 333 guestrooms and suites in the Lahaina Kai Tower. Guests can also select from 114 garden and oceanfront cottages nestled among the landscape. These unique one and two bedroom cottages feature complete kitchenettes. All accommodations offer air conditioning, flat screen TV, high speed internet access, private lanais and other amenities.
Restaurant
Two fine dining options, the Royal Ocean Terrace and Basil Tomatoes Italian Restaurant are located on the resort, as well as three lounges/bars.
General
The Royal Lahaina Resort has tennis courts, three swimming pools, Jacuzzi, beach cabana rentals, a jogging path, shopping arcade and an ice cream parlor! With so much available, leaving the resort may be difficult, but be sure to take the time to see a sunrise over the Haleakala Crater.

Good hotel -great location for snorkeling. kehekii beach park has one the best snorkeling spots (http://mauiguidebook.com/beaches/kahekili-beach-park/) - staff is courteous and helpful. We wanted two rooms that were next to each other. They were able to find us rooms without any hassles or any extra charge. -amenities are good. In the room there is lcd tv, small fridge, plenty of soaps, good quality towels, and decent furnishings. In the hotel, parking lot nearby (although the parking slots were very close to each other. We had a minivan so it was difficult to squeeze into narrow spaces), bar, swimming pool, a place where you can grab free beach towels, 2 per room, and rent snorkel gear.

Room service was decent. Staff was pretty friendly, I smoked so many cigarettes in that room even after they told me not to like five times and I still got my initial 100 dollar deposit back. Pretty legit

Great for the view, the spot, the location. However even paying Internet is anything but reliable in beachfront bungalows. The strongest signals led to unworking routers (and 10 USD per day makes this a scam). Working routers worked half the time, and were very slow. In the lobby, it was OK, but that is not what you expect for a so-called 4-star resort. Wardrobe was dirty, would need cleaning and painting. There were ants in the restrooms even after fumigation the same day. Wednesday morning was noisy very early when machinery was cutting the grass. They consider people all have to get up at 7 in the morning, I guess. Finally, nobody had told us that even "self-parking" cost was 10 USD per day (not even found in the hotel description).

We had a great time while at the resort, but we found that the house keeping could have been better. The grout lines in the shower was actually dirty. The maintenance crew at the resor was a little slow at responding. We were there for 5 nights and it took them 4 nights to get a light bulb chsnged.

Upgrading to the cottage was a mistake. The staff was very attentive to my concerns. There were quite a few. Firstly your rating system isn't accurate in my opinion. Expectations were far from met. The Cottage on the golf course was in a great location except for the landscaping crew which got very busy at 5:30. This a vacation spot and I try to sleep a little later and not be awakened by lawnmowers so early until. Then again the 1:30 am Hurricane from the sprinklers stunk too. Not enough space to go into the reservation debacle.
