The Royal 1 Hotel in the old quarter of Haoi is in an excellent location for a base in Hanoi. Close to the attractions of the city, the shopping streets of the old quarter, many restauruants, cafes and street vendors the location is perfect. There attentive service at check in even at 4 am from a train arrival was prompt and courteous. The rooms are of a very good standard - clean, spacious and with bathrooms with plenty of hot water. Breakfast is a small buffet, and by experience we found that if the food supply was low all you need to do is ask and they will replemish the required ingredients..The information on local attractions and even there money changing rates are very good. We stayed 3 nights and a further 2 nights later in the week and woiuld recommend this hotel to any budget minder travellers who like just a little bit more in a low cost hotel.
