The Rose Hotel is very well located to walk to Chinatown, the Motomachi, the Bund and other parts of Yokohama. I stayed at the New Grand 2 years ago and the rooms were about the same as The Rose Hotel and far more money. I think the Rose Hotel is a good value for the location and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast buffet was nice, but as Americans, we liked the nearby Starbucks instead!

Our room was ok, a bit dated. The hotel staff were helpful when we wanted to change rooms to one that didnt smell of smoke. We went mid Sept 08 and it was very hot, we had hoped to swim in the hotel pool but it was closed for the season. The hotel location was good and the pricing reasonable. We only stayed one night but managed to go on some great walks around the city which we really enjoyed.

Pleasant hotel, favorable location. Advantages: large rooms, comfortable beds,daily newspaper supply, substantial breakfast. Disadvantage: relatively high room rate. I would recommend
