Riviera Palm Springs - A Noble House Resort Guest Reviews
Much more fun and interesting than a corporate chain, but not quite as polished as I was hoping. The renovation is cool in retro/funky way, but seemed a bit superficial/incomplete -- just behind certain doors are areas that are old and worn out. Also the housekeeping wasn't up to snuff: we saw room service detritus untouched in the hallway for two days, and the carpet in our room needed cleaning. To their credit, the hotel credited $25 to the account when we mentioned this on checkout. Still, not quite perfect.

The rooms are old and I felt the price was too high for the room.

This hotel has all the potential to be a *great find* in Palm Springs, but it's plagued by operational issues. The staff is generally friendly, but good luck finding your way around. It has very poor directional signage, which is unfortunate because the resort is organized in a somewhat confusing loop. We ambled around in a hallway with two other guests trying to find the staircase to take us to the 3rd floor. The door was unmarked! Service in the restaurants is really slow. Checkin takes longer than necessary because the staff spends too much time chatting up arriving guests. And then, there's just the things that shouldn't happen at a hotel. For instance, my room was never made up. Even though I left at 8am, when I returned at 10pm everything was as disheveled as I left it. I had to call and have someone come up. In our other room there were no amenities -- no soap, no shampoo ... all just missing. We tried to call for fresh supplies but the phone didn't work either. The hotel is in a great location and it has some nice design features. If the management can get the operations in order, this will be a great "go to" for the Palm Springs resort traveler.
