Ritz Hotel Cape Town Guest Reviews
This hotel is not in the City Center as it claims to be. It is about a 30 minute walk to the City Center of Cape Town from the hotel. Beds were made up daily but the room was not really cleaned. I stayed for 7 nights. The area was not really safe at night. Twice during my stay the police came and dragged [literally] someone out. Staff was very helpful and the free breakfast was excellent.

The REception staff went out of their way to assist us when we arrived 2 hours earlier. The gentleman that took ou luggage up to the 13th floor was very friendly and his service fast and handled our luggage very well. The staff placed our frozen foods (Fish bought in Cape Town market) in the freezer and reminded us about it on check-out. The bed linen was crisp & clean and the room clean. We will definately we back!

This hotel is very well situated and is within walking distance to popular shops and restaurants as well as the V&A Waterfront. Our only criticism against the hotel was that we booked a triple room but there were always only 2 bath towels. We had to asked for the third one each day. The built-in cupboard doors are in bad need of repair and the bath needs to be re-enameled. Otherwise it was very comfortable.

Spent five nights here in February. Good value for money. Decor a little tired but rooms kept clean and hotel staff all very friendly, helpful and polite. Breakfast buffet excellent with vast selection of hot and cold food to choose from. Evening buffet was similarly good. Roof top revolving restaurant was slightly more expensive but food was excellent food and fantastic views over Cape Town and sdurrounding area although evening was slightly marred by over enthusiastic staff who like to clear empty crcckery from tables before all diners have finished eating! There are two bars, one on the first floor and one below the revolving restaurant. The latter is small and cosy but spolied (for non-smokers) by the fact that people can smoke in there. The first floor bar is, sadly, completely lacking in any form of atmosphere. However, we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if we go back to Cape Town.

Although just about clean, this hotel is very tired looking. The room had obviously had a quick paint job presumably for the world cup last year but it needs a serious refurb. We only stayed there to eat at the revolving restaurant at the top, which was lovely, but frankly will not stay there again.
